With live events being some time off - Sternberg Clarke one of London’s leading Entertainment companies is doing their best to create interesting and engaging entertainment via virtual platforms. Below are their top 10 tips:
- Make it engaging - get your audience to interact not just watch
- Make it short - ideally each act should be about 5-6 mins. If necessary have a number of acts
- Make it different - if everyone is using online magicians do something else. Pretty much any act in the real world will work online with a bit of thought
- Make it bespoke. The act should tailor the performance to make it relevant to the audience/company
- Make it real. Do something which brings the act into the real world. So, for example the bake off star could send mini cakes to everyone, the silhouette cutter could send the silhouettes out post zoom meeting.
- Most importantly - don’t just try and reproduce what works for live events-virtual platform has its advantages and disadvantages- use the advantages to your favour (like using polling techniques to get guests to select songs).
- Practice before hand - to iron out any technical issues
- If you have more than one act, use a host to pull everything together
- Be international (you can have acts from anywhere in the world perform)
- Record the entertainment
